Job Summary
Reporting to and under general direction of the Chief Planning
Officer, the Campus Planner provides strategic leadership
associated with the day-to-day administration of the space
management program within the Capital Planning, Design and
Construction (CPDC) department. In coordination with Facilities
Management, SSU campus partners and the Chancellor's Office (CO)
CPDC University Planner, the Campus Planner work involves, but is
not limited to, the development, alteration, implementation and
evaluation of capital projects during concept, programming, and
design phases through construction and project close-out. The
incumbent is also responsible for the evaluation of the annual
Multi-year Capital Outlay Program and Improvement Plan and setting
priorities for short and long-term capital planning that align with
the SSU Academic Strategic Plan and Physical Master Plan. The
incumbent regularly participates in planning and development of
broad and more complex organizational unit or program projects and
goals, often providing program leadership of a strategic nature or
representing the organizational unit on key projects. Contacts
involve interaction with all levels inside and outside the
university, and may include dealing with sensitive and confidential
information.
Key Qualifications
This position requires a bachelor's degree in Design or
Construction or Architecture or Engineering or, Business or related
fields, and/or the equivalent training and administrative work
experience involving study, analysis, and/or evaluation leading to
the development or improvement of administrative policies,
procedures, practices, or programs, plus four years of related
experience. Experience in database development and management for
Facilities Management and/or Capital Planning Design and
Construction highly preferred. Higher education experience highly
preferred. Experience with Construction/Design, as well as
California Building code is preferred. Intermediate to advanced
proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel)
required. Knowledge of Google Suite, database management,
PeopleSoft, AutoCAD, Autodesk Revit, Photoshop, BlueBeam and
Qualtrics preferred.
Salary and Benefits
Starting salary placement depends on qualifications and experience
and is anticipated to be in the$5,022 to $7,084 a month. This is a
full time, exempt position, which will lead toward permanent status
following the successful completion of a probationary period.
This position is eligible for a broad range of benefits, including
medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurances, retirement
(CalPERS), tuition waiver, vacation and sick leave. In addition, 14
paid holidays are offered each year; 13 scheduled on specific days
and a Personal Holiday that may be taken any time during the
year.
