integrated health model of Tiburcio Vasquez Health Center (TVHC),
the Integrated Behavioral Health Program provides behavioral health
services to patients currently receiving primary care services at
TVHC. The Behavioral Health Specialist II (BHS) conducts screening,
assessment, brief treatment, and consultative services to patients
with mild to moderate mental health symptoms. As a licensed
clinician, the BHS will utilize Evidence-Based Practices using
brief treatment modalities and also provide linkage and referrals
to community services as needed. The BHS will work from an
interdisciplinary approach and in collaboration with the PCP
(Primary Care Provider), Consulting Psychiatrist, and Care
Coordinators. Schedule: This is a full-time position, working 40
hours per week, typically Monday through Friday, with occasional

Compensation: Behavioral Health Specialist II (LCSW): $44.74 -
$48.89 per hour, depending on experience. This position is
represented by SEIU, with compensation and benefits determined by
the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). Salary is
based on the wage scales outlined in the agreement. Beyond base
pay, TVHC provides a comprehensive compensation package that

employees. Responsibilities: Conduct brief, non-stigmatizing
screenings to evaluate the needs of children and adults for mental
health and support services. Perform comprehensive bio-psychosocial
assessments for mental health, substance abuse, co-occurring
disorders, domestic violence, medical needs, etc. Conduct follow-up
as appropriate based on results of evaluation. Provide behavioral
health services in low-intensity/brief treatment (e.g.
problem-solving therapy, behavioral activation, and other
Evidenced-Based Practices), in a culturally, linguistically and
age-appropriate manner. Provide early interventions and collaborate
with Care Coordinators on referrals to specialty mental health
services. Provide ongoing consultation for primary care staff in
appropriate mental health techniques Participate in
multidisciplinary collaborative meetings Participate in integrated
care to address behavioral health and chronic health conditions
such as diabetes and depression. Participate in multidisciplinary
staff meetings and other staff processes to achieve program
development, staff development, program evaluation, program
operations review, and other activities needed to maintain quality
of services. Initiate and take on special responsibilities as
required by grant funded projects and other program development
efforts. Maintain confidentiality regarding privileged
administrative and patient information in a professional manner.
Performs all duties for successful electronic health records
maintenance including but not limited to; completion of
client/patients records after each visit according to established
protocol, coding, and signing off charts within the designated time
set by the organization. Comply with established departmental
policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program,
safety, environmental, and customer service standards. Performs all
duties and service in full compliance with TVHC’s Service
Excellence Standards. Perform other duties as assigned. The above

Work or Doctorate in Psychology required. California Licensure as
an LCSW or Licensed Psychologist required. Minimum of one (1) year
of related experience required. Bilingual in English and Spanish
required. Qualifications: Position requires the ability to work
independently, organize tasks, problem-solve, make decisions, and
handle multiple priorities. Position requires significant
interpersonal skills with co-workers and with patients and
families. Work as a team member with fellow co-workers, primary
care, and agency staff. Cultural sensitivity and understanding of
mental health issues Must be willing to travel to and from various
service sites as needed. Ability to work in a fast-paced primary
care clinic. Ability to complete work and articulate provider
concerns in a timely and concise manner.
