Our team is 100% remote and we work with teams across North America, South America, and Europe to help them hire.Salary Range: $130,000-$180,000 base plus. 0.5%-1.0% equity.Job DescriptionOur client is looking for an experienced, thoughtful senior product backend engineer to accelerate their product development. This is a backend role, with a strong collaborative element.Our client is early stage, so you'll have an outsized equity stake and an unparalleled opportunity to shape the product direction. Engineers decide what gets built and why, in addition to figuring out how.Role Responsibilities:

• Work directly with the CTO (ex-founder & led product & engineering teams at Improbable) and our clients' small but mighty team of founding engineers
• Collaborate on building the APIs used by Shelf for new product features and experiences
• Build the services, pipelines, and data to power new product capabilities
• Support long-term scalability of architecture as more users join and use Shelf
• Ensure code and product quality
• Implement engineering best practices across development and deployment
• Guide/mentor other engineers (note: this is an IC role; if you're looking for a pure Engineering Manager role, this isn't the best fit)
