Job Description:

SUMMARYThe Senior Accountant II position is responsible for account reconciliations accounts, resolving account discrepancies, analyzing the company's financial status, and verifying financial transactions to reduce financial risk of the Company. This position assists with training junior staff and reviewing their work. This position also maintains the month end close process and ensures all deadlines are met in a timely manner.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSDay to Day Accounting

  • Prepare analysis of accounts & bank reconciliations
  • Perform general ledger and accounting entries
  • Train and review Junior Staff Accountant processing of wires, invoices and other accounting tasks such as reconciliations and JE's.
  • Lead month end and year end close procedures and communications with finance leadership
  • Calculate UM earnout
  • Perform quarterly LTIP-NQDC reconciliation and respective JE's
  • Review annual insurance renewal process (prepared by Senior Accountant I)
  • Lead annual 571L reporting and filing for property taxes
  • Assist with annual financial audit
  • Assist with quarterly and annual income tax filing
  • Assist with equity transactions and respective communications to shareholdersOther
    • Ad-hoc projects and reports for Controller and Accounting Manger
    • Train new accounting members
    • Communication with HR for Payroll related GL activity
    • Investigate BVA analysis as needed for Finance leadership
    • Assist functional staff (i.e. AP, AR) with GL related questions
    • Assist business partners with GL related questions and inquiries
    • Support Accounting Manager and Controller with special projects and workflow process improvements
    • Other duties as assigned
      REQUIREMENTSExperience/Education:
      • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent education/experience
      • CPA or public accounting experience preferred
      • Minimum four years' accounting experience in a comparable environment
      • Experience in accounting for manufacturing or wholesale company
      • Experience with property tax, sales/use tax and retail grocery deductions preferred
      • Experience as a project lead preferred
      • Experience training team members preferredKnowledge/Abilities/Skills:
        • Strong technical accounting skills and knowledge of GAAP
        • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
        • Proficient in using and interpreting data from ERP systems
        • Ability to manipulate large amounts of raw data (including pdf) to Excel data conversions
        • Excellent organization skills, attention to detail
        • Ability to exercise judgement, discretion and make good decisions
        • Ability to effectively manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
        • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
        • Self-starter requiring limited task supervision
        • Strong team player
        • Excellent interpersonal skills
        • Quick learner and quick thinker, good at brainstorming

          Technical Skills:
          • Proficient with accounting and ERP systems such as Dynamics AX
          • Intermediate level skills with MS Office Excel and Word
          • 10-key proficiency
