Position Summary:The VP of Finance is responsible for leading Graton Resort & Casino's finance, budgeting, and accounting efforts. This role involves uncovering and providing key financial insights, budgetary guidance, and support to the highest levels of the organization while proactively identifying business opportunities and making recommendations to mitigate risks. The VP of Finance oversees and directs treasury, budgeting, audit, tax, accounting, purchasing, compliance, long-range forecasting, payroll and insurance activities for the organization.Essential Functions:1. Responsible for practicing, supporting and promoting Graton Resort & Casino's Company-wide culture and demonstrating Graton Resort & Casino's Service Standards at all times.2. Lead, manage and scale the finance function (team, system implementation, and process development) through periods of rapid growth.3. Analyze the company's financial results with respect to profits, trends, costs and compliance with budget. Issue regular status reports to the owners of the business as well as Senior Management. Own all financial reporting, budgeting, financial analysis, risk management, and internal reporting. Lead the monthly close process by working diligently with department heads to bring urgency to managing financial results.4. Drive financial initiatives across a broad array of activities within the business.5. Balance leadership and management skills with a hands-on approach to financial reporting functions.6. Develop and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard the assets of the organization and to ensure proper segregation of duties and detection of fraud, and compliance with all Title 31 and Gaming regulations.7. Work with the General Manager on the strategic vision, including fostering stakeholder relationships, as well as assisting in the development and negotiation of contracts.8. Direct accurate recording or capital expenditures and all fixed assets including proper componentization of expenditures.9. Direct the controllers in maintaining proper records and maintaining adequate accounting controls and services.10. Implement and manage departmental training and development program within realm of responsibilities.11. Develop and manage relationships with lending/financial institutions, insurance providers while ensuring compliance to agreements.12. Manage cash flow of the business.Required Qualifications:1. Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members and Management in both written and verbal form.2. 10+ years' experience in a financial leadership position at a public company, or high-growth private company, or equivalent. Minimum two (2) years Director level experience or above at a mid to large size casino.3. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.4. Deep understanding of financial principles including US GAAP, best practices, procedures, and controls on manual and automated systems within the Gaming industry.5. Proven ownership of financial reporting, financial processes, and key metrics in multi-faceted businesses.6. Independent judgment within established systems and processes, and the ability to make recommendations that improve systems and processes.7. Managerial and executive presence to persuade others to achieve excellence and to foster an environment of openness and teamwork.8. Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact effectively with all areas and levels of the company.9. Must have a high proficiency in Microsoft applications (Excel, Access, Word).Physical Requirements:1. Requires normal, corrective vision range, the ability to see color and the ability to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols.2. Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time, bend, stand, lift, push, carry and pull.3. Manual dexterity to operate job related equipment.4. Work in a 24/7 environment across all shifts to coordinate with staff on all days and shifts.
